چکیده

Linear Frequency Modulation (LFM) waveform becomes widespread in modern pulse compression radar systems in order to improve its target range resolution capability. Conventional LFM based on varying the waveform frequency linearly within the radar pulse width which leads to high Auto Correlation Function (ACF) with limited compression ratio (CR) and side lobe level (SLL). This paper proposed Optimized Biphase Pulse Compression Codes (OBPCC) with the LFM waveform. Frequency and phase coding have been used to achieve optimum (SLL) and (CR) using Genetic algorithm (GA). The results compare the ACF for both LFM and phase coded (PCLFM). Set of codes are generated for code length of 51 with frequency modulation index from 0.002 to 0.009. Peak sidelobe level from -18.89 dB to -19.33 dB is achieved. The results obtained show superiority of PCLFM over the conventional LFM which improves the compression ratio by 9.95 times the conventional LFM.

Low Power LFM Pulse Compression RADAR with Sidelobe suppression M

One of the parameters of the pulsed RADAR that contributes range capability is the average power of the transmitter. The average power can be increased by increasing the peak power or transmitted pulse width or both. The complexity in the design of transmitter components to withstand high peak power is the most challenging task. On the other hand larger transmitted pulse width affects the RADAR...

Using Time Sidelobe Measurements to Assess the Performance of Compressed-Pulse Radars

Unfortunately, traditional RF pulse measurements become less effective predictors of performance in radars that use pulse compression. For example, the width of an uncompressed radar pulse is directly related to spatial resolution. In contrast, the resolution depends on pulse width, chirp bandwidth and chirp linearity in a compressed radar system that uses linear frequency modulated (LFM) chirp...

Quasi-Coherent Noise Jamming to LFM Radar Based on Pseudo-Random Sequence Phase-modulation

A novel quasi-coherent noise jamming method is proposed against linear frequency modulation (LFM) signal and pulse compression radar. Based on the structure of digital radio frequency memory (DRFM), the jamming signal is acquired by the pseudo-random sequence phase-modulation of sampled radar signal. The characteristic of jamming signal in time domain and frequency domain is analyzed in detail....
